The Mind set

Newman Sixth student James Ryan is one of only 12 students nationally to be selected to work for the BBC and Radio 1 with their new project – ‘The Mind Set’. Staff and students at Cardinal Newman School are all very excited as this launched yesterday. James appeared on Victoria Derbyshire Live yesterday and was on the BBC News throughout the day! James is studying Economics, Maths and History A levels.

‘I was so driven to do well we were convinced that they (GCSEs) were absolutely everything and without them you would never be anything’. This is the first sentence that James has said when he was introduced into the BBC radio 1 interview (The interview is available at the BBC radio 1 website).

We are so proud of James and we thank him so much for representing our school and helping students that are feeling alienated in time of need and support.
