Four of Newman’s sixth form students, in Year 12, recently set off to Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School, near St Albans, to attend a debating competition held by the Catenians, an organisation of Catholic laymen. Jeremiah Tudor and Vincent Masterson were the spokesmen for this particular occasion. They helped to write the speeches and read them with eloquence. The results of this competition were victorious! Vincent Masterson won an individual award for his engaging and political-based speech. All four students won the school prize for the event, thus ensuring a place at the nationals in September in Manchester! Isabelle Lepore and Milosz Mnich participated in composing the speeches and will be speaking at the nationals. It was a fantastic event and we are all looking forward to September!
